Publish texts to your site!

(A.K.A.) How to use .CSV & .XML files to publish your texts

Different options

  • Live feed – Setup a live feed of approved tasks in Google Sheets
  • .txt file – Downloading approved tasks 1-by-1
  • .csv file – Downloading approved tasks to a spreadsheet program
  • .xml file – Download a ready file to import into your website

Setup a live feed in Google Sheets

This is the preferred method if you are regularly updating tasks on your website and there are multiple publishers / you are not the publisher.

  • Login to Wordapp.io. From the navigation menu, go to your Projects.
  • In the project list, find the project from which you have tasks that you want to get the publish-ready content.
  • Copy the URL of the CSV file (see images below)
  • Open this Google Spreadsheet Template, duplicate it and follow the instructions

Download a .txt file

Great if you want to download individual files
Tip: Move the file to Google Drive and open it with Google Sheets (all settings like UTF-8 will be recognised automatically -aka no scrambled letters-). Alternatively use a plain-text editor.

  • Login to Wordapp.io. From the navigation menu, go to your Projects.
  • In the project list, find the project from which you have tasks that you want to get the publish-ready content.
  • Click on the project name to see a list of all task keywords
  • Click on the .txt link. And the file will be downloaded to your computer.

Download a .csv file

For the Excel guru’s you can easily download your file in .csv format.
Tip: Move the file to Google Drive and open it with Google Sheets (all settings like UTF-8 will be recognised automatically, which they are not in Excel).

  • Login to Wordapp.io. From the navigation menu, go to your Projects.
  • In the project list, find the project from which you have tasks that you want to get the publish-ready content.
  • Click on the download .CSV icon. And the file will be downloaded to your computer.

Download a .xml file

The preferred way for big (e-commerce) sites with (some) IT support to allow for very fast publishing.

  • Login to Wordapp.io. From the navigation menu, go to your Projects.
  • In the project list, find the project from which you have tasks that you want to get the publish-ready content.
  • Click on the download .XML icon (see image below). And the file will be downloaded to your computer.
Open, publish and enjoy..
