Wordapp Improvements

Wordapp Improvements 12 December 2017

File this post under better late than never! This changelog covers our Sprints 65 and 66. But as always, thanks for using Wordapp! To make Wordapp an even better experience for you, we regularly update the app. Our updates include new features, performance improvements, and bug fixes. Below is a description of the latest features and bug fixes we have been working on for you!

Self Invoicing

Santa and his developer elves came early this Christmas and left us this great present in our office Christmas tree! It’s our first official invoice generated by Wordapp for Yasemin Erdoğan! We are proud to be able to deliver many more to our freelancers! Now our users will receive automatically generated self-invoicing. Basically, as part of the process of getting paid in Wordapp, an invoice is generated on your behalf and sent to us. You can track, print, or do what your heart desires with these records.

Setup SQL Databases

PostgreSQL has been set up on all Wordapp environment (stage, beta, and production).
Backup is taken at 6 pm as usual.

Configure Rails to support both Mongo and SQL.
Failed tests have been fixed.
Paranonia gem has been installed for active record.

SQL Model Test
We replicated our user transaction table to exist on both Mongo and SQL.

Template Library Improvements

More sensitive search on template search with focus keyword.
Wordapp highlights searched keyword in the preview!

Improve Search UX

Search by template name is added to advanced search.
When the user searches a template, Wordapp selects first list item by default.

Order type

From now on we are storing order type on the content order.
New Types: New content / Translations / Re-write.
Admins can assign order types either manually or upload as TSV.
New header is “Order Type”.

Minor Improvements

Bug Fixes

  • Multiple registrations with the same e-mail has been disabled.
  • Restrict access to template list for users without an account.
  • Assigning a task to a user who was previously timed out or canceled on that task, erroneously leaves the transaction state “canceled.” This bug has been fixed.
  • A bunch of general bug fixes and performance improvements.
